Ice Age National Scenic Trail
This trail covers 1,000 miles in the state of Wisconsin. You’ll see the features a glacier left as it receded thousands of years ago. While the trail goes through 31 counties as it winds from Potawatomi State Park in Sturgeon Bay to Interstate State Park in Saint Croix Falls, you can take a day trip on the Blue Hills segment, which is close to Rice Lake.
If you want to do some actual hiking, make this a two-day trip and head out to some segments that are for off road hiking. The Blue Hills segment is less than 20 miles from Rice Lake. Head over to Bucks Lake Road and CTH-F to start. End at CTH-F Trail Access. If you’re making a weekend of it, bring a tent for some primitive camping.
